On a recent Sunday night, I attended a women’s conference with a friend. On the way back, our conversations revolved around the mighty things we’ve have seen God do. It was a riveting time of sharing the amazing power of God. Something about those types of conversations ignites faith in me.
The following morning, I continued to think about these things. Stories of our experiences with God – declaring His glory and power.
These are seen as ‘memorial stones’ in the Bible. In the book of Joshua, chapter 4, we see this truth.
And it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over the Jordan, that the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying: “Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from every tribe, 3 and command them, saying, ‘Take for yourselves twelve stones from here, out of the midst of the Jordan, from the place where the priests’ feet stood firm. You shall carry them over with you and leave them in the lodging place where you lodge tonight.’ Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe; and Joshua said to them: “Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.”
The stones were to recall and retell of the mighty acts of God.
Lately, I have been thinking a lot about the marvelous things I have seen God do AND I want to talk about them to others. So many people in our time have never seen the power of God on display. There are those who have never witnessed miracles, signs and wonders and I want them to know they still happen today.
Our generation and the generation coming behind us need to see God’s power! We are the ones who have witnessed those things and who can declare those miracles. I believe as we share what we have seen to those who are hungry for more of God, it will ignite their faith. They will begin to cry out to God to see His miracles, signs and wonders. And God will answer with His mighty works.
There is something deep within me lately that senses a powerful move of God coming to our land. That senses God is about to move in our midst with powerful signs and wonders. I don’t want to miss that, do you?
I see it as a bowl being filled up with faith and expectation – when that bowl is full, it will overflow and we will see the hand of God move like never before. Therefore, I daily meditate on the word of God and reminisce on the things I have seen with my own eyes – seemingly impossible things! I am doing everything I know to do to fill my bowl of expectations. Why? Because I am anticipating and ready for overflow, how about you?
I believe we are there, my friend. Let’s keep pressing in. Continue lifting His name up! Keep on worshipping God. Call out His mighty names and glorify Him. Praise Him. Dance before Him. Let faith arise in you. Let expectations be at an all-time high. Fill our bowl Lord – overflow in THIS season! To God be all the glory!
