A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Luke 8:5-8

I was reading my Bible last weekend when I came across this familiar passage. As I read it, the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “what was the sower doing?” I replied, “the sower went out to sow.” He said, “I give seed to the sower.”

A sower is defined as one who plants, sows, and establishes. One biblical definition says to sow describes the connection between the act and its consequences. The very next day, unbeknownst to me, I would see the connection between the act of sowing and its results.

After reading this passage of scriptures, I had really forgotten about it. I went about my day. That evening my phone dinged with a reminder. It reminded me of the birthday of a friend. It was the following week.

As soon as I read it, I felt God wanted me to bless her with a nice birthday present. I knew immediately what to do. I would fill a basket with things like gardening tools, journals, devotions, a coffee mug and more. I knew this would take some work and I would have to go out of town to get it done. Still, I told God that day I would obey and do my best to overwhelm her with a blessing.

This is a person I don’t see often, maybe once every couple months. Therefore, when she showed up at my office the next day, I was surprised. It was Monday and her birthday wasn’t until Friday. I didn’t plan to mention it to her, but it flew out of my mouth. I exclaimed, “you have a birthday coming up this week!” She responded, “Yes, we are going out of town that day.”

Now I realized, I needed to get her gift sooner than I first anticipated. Still, the scripture… God gives seed to the sower rang through my mind. It was only moments later, someone sent me a personal love offering. Seed to the sower!

The following day I took my seed and I went to Cleveland in search of her birthday basket. Once I had everything, Breanne and I put it all together. It was quite lovely! The next morning, I carried it into the office. As I placed it on the counter, the Lord spoke to me. He said, “I told you I give seed to the sower.”

God told me to bless someone. I told Him I would obey. He gave me the seed to bless them. I took that seed and did what God had asked of me.

GOD GIVES SEED to one person…the SOWER.

I am quite certain, if I had not had a heart to obey, He wouldn’t have given the seed. But I did obey, therefore the seed came.

God gives seed to the sower….but He doesn’t stop there.

2 Corinthians 9:10 says; Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.

God not only gives seed to the sower, He supplies the seed and then multiplies the seed you have sown. It WILL multiply as long as we sow it. Recently, I am hearing this phrase again, “the sower went out to sow” and “God gives seed to the sower.”

I believe with all my heart God wants to bless His people. He is looking for those whom He can trust. Who will do what He says to do with their money. Who will sow when He says sow. Who will give when He says and the amount He says. I want to be one of those.

A few days ago, I sowed a seed to a friend. Within minutes I received a donation with a note attached. On her note it stated, God gives seed to the sower. We are getting it! And as we do, the wealth that is already on the inside of us is coming forth!!!

God has given us the ability, the power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant with us. Deut. 8:18

God is showing us how to create wealth. A big part of that has to do with our giving. God gives seed to the sower. As we sow, He gives more and more seed. And we continue to sow. As we do, we are building wealth. Wealth, that the devourer cannot touch because it is hidden in God. When we give, our monies move from this world’s kingdom into the Kingdom of God. As it does, God has a legal right to multiply our seed sown and release our harvest.

I don’t know about you, but I love what He is teaching us. I am hearing testimonies all around. We are getting it! We have laid hold of the revelation! We are doing what the Word says. We are sowing and seeing the results of our sowing.

The sower went out to sow… that’s us! The scripture goes on to say that those who sowed in good ground, reaped a hundredfold return. That is what we believe for you this month. Your seed, every single seed, sown in good ground, will reap a hundredfold harvest this very month, in Jesus name. May it be so Lord.

Let me pray over your seed today:

Father, we thank you for every seed sown this month. We bless these seeds. We give you praise for them. We ask for your blessing upon each seed sown this month. May each seed produce a hundredfold return, just as your Word says. May the sowers harvest manifest NOW, in Jesus name. Thank you for your blessing, Lord, upon each seed. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
