One morning, the Lord woke me up at 3:30 am and instructed me to pray for one of my partners. He told me a specific prayer to pray and then He gave me a particular scripture to pray over him. I didn’t think a lot about it at the time. I arose and prayed and declared God’s Word over him and his family, standing firm on the scripture God had given me to use as my foundation.

The next day, I was thinking about it and pondering the events of the middle of the night, when I realized something profound.

Sometimes according to the Word of God, we position ourselves for things. For instance, in the Old Testament, when we harkened to God’s commandments, we positioned ourselves for blessings and not the curse.

Psalms 1 tells us if we meditate in the Word of God day and night we will be like a tree planted by water, that brings forth fruit and whatever we do will prosper.

The New Testament tells us if we repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord, we will be born again.

Over and again the Bible tells us if we do this, God will do that. What are we doing when we obey God’s Word? We are positioning ourselves to receive the reward of that promise.

I am a firm believer if I am praying about a certain thing, I need a scripture to back up what I am believing for. For instance, if I am praying for healing, I find healing scriptures and stand on those, confessing the promises as I pray. If I am praying for finances, I find those scriptures and stand on them as I pray.

I said all that to say this. God showed me that morning that my partner had positioned himself for a blessing. How did he do that?

I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. (Gen 12:3)

This is the scripture God gave me to stand on for this person to receive a blessing from God. I knew this was a foundational truth for this person because they had certainly been a blessing to me and to this ministry. Therefore, I knew I had firm ground to cry out to God to bless this person. I had a powerful and proven scripture to stand on.

Did you know when you bless someone else you position yourself to be blessed?

It’s true. When you are a blessing, you have the right to stand on God’s Word for a blessing to come right back to you. Just as this person does. Isn’t that awesome?

I know you have been a blessing – you wouldn’t even be receiving this letter today if you had not already been a blessing. That means, my friend, you are positioned for a blessing! This month, as I pray over you daily, I will be praying that God releases a plethora of blessings upon you – and I will be standing on this promise from the Word of God that He will – absolutely will bless you – if no other reason than because His Word says He will bless those who bless me.

I am crying out for your blessing today. For your harvest. For increase. You have been a blessing, now it is time for you to experience the other side of that promise – to be blessed beyond measure.

It is my prayer for you that our God will daily load you with all His benefits. DAILY. (Ps 68:19)

Thank you for being a blessing to ME and to this ministry in 2023 – may your harvest be more than you can imagine, in the mighty name of Jesus!!!

Love,

Kim Potter
