Do you want the world we are seeing today to change? I know I do. But I can tell you this, unless we change, it will not change.

Day after day I am hearing Christians say these types of things over and over…

“The world has gone crazy; people have lost their minds.”

“We are never going back to normal; this is life from here on out.”

“Our nation is being destroyed daily. It will never end.”

“I’m afraid to do this, I’m afraid to do that. I fear for my children’s future.”

Daily on the news we hear the same negative reports. Worse, yet we as Christians are giving them power by declaring them day in and day out. STOP!

Romans 10:9-10 says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

This scripture is not just talking about confessing sin. It is showing us the power in confession.

You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth. (Prov 6:2)

One translation says we are sentenced by the words of our mouth.

The right words bring freedom, prosperity, and healing. The wrong words bring the opposite. The opposite is what we are seeing.

I beg of you – take one day and watch your words. Write down everything you say. Then reflect on your words of the day. Are you speaking life or death? What are you declaring? Life? Destruction?

I know I wrote about this before many times, but friends, if we don’t get this one thing right and consistent – we will never see change. We will not see peace in our country.  We will not see peace in our family or in our personal life.

We are seeing what we are saying.

God gave us power, creative power. That power is released in our words. We must speak into these situations. We must declare what the word says. As we do, we will see it turn for our good.

Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. (James 3:4-5)

The Bible compares the tongue to a rudder on a ship. A rudder is the primary control that steers a ship – turns it wherever it needs to go.

I believe, for many of it, it is time to turn the ship.

For the word of God is living and powerful… (Hebrews 4:12)

You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; So, light will shine on your ways. (Job 22:28)

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.(Mark 11:23)

We can turn the ship. All power and authority have been given to those who obey and walk with God. That’s us! Let’s turn this ship.

The power for change is available to us. We must stop repeating the words of the devil. Stop quoting news media. Look to God and His word. Say what God says. Create the change we want to see. The answer is within us…the creative power of our words. As we begin to confess the word of God over our lives and our families, I believe we will see change. Are you with me?
