It was around 6am Monday morning. I had been awake most of the night. I have no idea why; I simply could not sleep. I didn’t feel the need to pray, or worship, I only felt exhausted. I decided to go lie on the couch and try to get an hour or two of sleep. I popped in a movie that always encourages me, hoping to go to sleep to it as I have seen it numerous times and knew it by heart.
Still sleep eluded me.
I lay there beyond weary, praying every few minutes, listening to see if God had anything to say. After a few moments He spoke one sentence to me. He said, “Turnaround Day is coming.”
He repeated that statement to me several times. Turnaround Day is coming.
Turnaround is defined an abrupt or unexpected change, especially one that results in a more favorable situation. While I like this definition, I would change one word when it comes from the mouth of God. Turnaround Day is an abrupt and EXPECTED, not unexpected, change resulting in a more favorable situation.
Turnaround Day came for the children of Israel after decades of bondage and toil. It came as they went forth healed and whole, watching their enemies become destroyed once and for all, never to see them again.
Turnaround Day came for Abraham and Sarah as they saw the promised son born. It came for David as he was crowned king. It came for Jesus as He rose from the dead, with ALL the power of the enemy in His hand.
I would imagine for some it would be hard to believe for turnaround. Especially if you have been battling the same issues over and again. I totally understand that. However, when God spoke this to me, it didn’t only impact my thoughts, it impacted my spirit. I felt it in my spirit – therefore I know my spirit bore witness with the Spirit of God at that moment and the words He was speaking. That gives me great hope and expectation.
Isaiah 43:19 says, Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
The Message Bible says it like this; Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? (The Message)
A key to perceiving a turnaround or a breakthrough is to forget what is in the past. Forget the disappointments. Forget the toil and hardship. Do not keep rehearsing old history. Come into the present and have a heart of expectation. Today must be your ‘nevertheless’ moment.
Luke 5:4-5 says, When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
The Amplified says it like this; When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul. And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again].
It’s time to go deep.
Perhaps there is a depth to your faith that you have yet tapped into. I know you have it in you to cast your net of faith one more time. This is your nevertheless moment – grab hold of it with all your might. There is one more scripture I want to share with you today.
Philippians 3:15-15 says, Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
According to this scripture, a mature mind will let go of the past and reach for what is ahead. I don’t know about you, but I want to be mature in Christ. Therefore, I let go of what is behind me and I lay hold of the word from God, Turnaround Day is coming.
I am declaring this word over you today – YOUR Turnaround Day is coming – we believe it and take firm hold of it. Thank you, God, for Your faithfulness. I KNOW we will see the goodness of God in our life, even this day, in Jesus’ name.
