I was once watching a conference when I saw a familiar face in the crowd! It was Brother Norvel Hayes. My mentor for several years, and under whose ministry I am ordained.
It was at a Kenneth Copeland conference. As Kenneth was teaching, he suddenly saw Brother Norvel and walked over to him to say hello. They began to talk, and Brother Norvel started telling Kenneth about a recent experience he had with the Lord.
He shared that he had been praying about a miracle that he had needed for about five years. One night as he was praying God took him to heaven and talked to him. When he came back to earth, he said God spoke strongly to him and said, “if you want it, don’t forget the victory prayer!” To which Kenneth replied, “yes!” He knew exactly which prayer God spoke of. It is found in Mark 11:23-24.
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
Kenneth put it in simple terms as he shared the victory prayer with the crowd. He said, “yes, the victory prayer, speak to it, speak the desired end results, believe it in your heart and it will come to pass.”
I know we have all heard this. Still, I have not been able to get that phrase, victory prayer, out of my mind lately. I believe God is reminding us there is a simple way to victory.
Yes, it is simple, but it is also vital and must be consistent. Simple but profound.
Speak to it – we must say what we want to see happen, speak ONLY what the Word says. We must continue to do this in spite of what we see or hear in the natural.
Believe it in your heart – do you believe what God has promised you will come to pass? We must believe the promise and believe the Word of God. The Bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. If you do not believe in your heart, then your words will not be faith-filled words. Whatever is in your heart is what will eventually come out of your mouth. If your heart is filled with fear, that is what will come out of your mouth. However, if your heart is filled with faith, faith will come out of your mouth consistently.
Today, I want you to meditate on these verses and on what God called the victory prayer.
As we close this writing today, let’s look at Mark 11:23-24 in the Amplified bible.
I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart in God’s unlimited power but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him, in accordance with God’s will. For this reason, I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer in accordance with God’s will, believe with confident trust that you have received them, and they will be given to you.
What an awesome promise – I love this. Begin to pray the victory prayer today over all your needs or concerns. Pray and be assured, victory is on its way!
