Today I am going to write on a subject that keeps coming up this year – actually it has for a few years now. I am speaking of the REST OF GOD….ENTERING INTO HIS REST…
Early in 2020, God gave me this scripture.
But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence. 1 Kings 5:4
One translation says it like this; But now God has provided peace all around—no one against us, nothing at odds with us.
Does that sound like the past few years or even the year 2024? Not by a long shot. Yet, I have kept this word in my heart and continue to declare it over me, my family, and our partners.
Just this morning, I felt led to listen to an online church message. At the very beginning of the message, the pastor began to share a prophecy he had given in 2019.
He said, “God said we were entering a decade of difference.” He went on to say God said, “This decade would start off harsh and there would be plaques like in the days of Pharaoh. BUT listen to the words I speak to you as you see it start off harsh. It SHALL come into a place of REST and of MY GOODNESS says the spirit of God.”
I don’t recall hearing that word before or even recently, but it is definitely as relevant today. As I listened to those words, I wanted to do a happy dance. This confirms our journey; the seasons we are walking through are not for naught—they are taking us somewhere. That somewhere is a place of rest on every side! Can you even imagine that? I can!!!
I once heard someone make the statement, “Some peace only comes after war.” Could it be that this place of rest only comes after great chaos?
I am more convinced than ever that God is taking us to a place of rest on every side. It took months for me to hear confirmation of what I felt God had said, but today, I heard that confirmation. Praise the Lord.
I don’t know about you, but I believe it is time to begin calling forth our promise of rest on every side and of the goodness of God being poured into our lives. IT IS COMING! I am more convinced than ever.
Doesn’t that excite you and give you great hope? It does me. I realize we may have a few more bumpy months, but God has spoken. He is taking us to a place of rest. Rest on every side. With no adversary or evil occurrence. That sounds really good to me right now. He is pouring out His goodness. We only need to keep walking and standing on His word.
Today, I want to leave you with a prayer of decree to speak over you and your family.
Father, I thank You for Your word concerning this time we are in. I decree that my entire household is entering into YOUR REST. Not only that, but You, God, are giving us rest on every side, with no adversary or evil occurrence – just as you promised! I decree that even this day, the goodness of God is being poured out in our lives. We agree with Your word. We receive it as ours. We take it now. And we give You praise for it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
