Although 2020 is far behind us, it seems some of the effects of it remain. People continue to deal with long term health issues. There remains more anxiety and fear than I ever saw before that year – prices are still crazy high for most things and taxes continue to rise, at least from what I am seeing.
I have shared with you about a trip I once made to the City of Faith in Tulsa, Oklahoma. That, too, was unlike anything I had experienced before. Upon my arrival, I felt tangible faith when I stepped out of my vehicle. It was in the very atmosphere. It changed me. It altered the way I saw things.
At that moment, I knew that atmospheres could be changed with faith and the word of God. Even the atmosphere of cities.
I don’t know about you, but I desire to dwell in an atmosphere of faith and peace. That’s not really what we see on most days, however, I know we have the power and authority to change atmospheres.
In Genesis 1:3, the word of God says, Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
When studying this scripture, I found the word, light, means.
Light of life.
Light of prosperity.
Light of instruction.
Light of Jehovah.
I think we can all agree that our world sometimes looks dark. However, even as bad as it seems, I doubt it looks as dark as it did to God in Genesis 1:3.
Yet, even then, what God spoke came to be. He declared, “Light be.” And light was.
We have been given that same power and authority. We, too, can speak into the darkness and command light. Command life. Command prosperity and instruction. Command the light of Jehovah Himself to shine upon us, our family and even our nation. We can and must do that.
A friend of mine, Karen Hardin, once shared something with me that she had been doing. After hearing her share it the third time, it finally dawned on me that it may be something God wanted me to do as well.
Karen told me that she had been reading the word of God out loud each day. Not only out loud, but outside. Knowing as the word of God is released into the atmosphere, things will change. The atmosphere will change, just as they did for God in Genesis 1:3.
A few days later, I began to follow her example. Bible in hand, I headed to my porch. I read the word of God into the atmosphere. Out loud. Once I finished, I prayed for a few moments. Asking God to allow the words we are speaking out loud and outside to change the atmosphere. To drive out the fear, anxiety, and chaos. To release peace and His light in our cities and our land.
One morning after I finished speaking the word of God into the atmosphere I began to think. What if all of us did this daily? What kind of impact would that make? Would be begin to see the same magnitude of light that God saw that day? Would we begin to see a new beginning? A God-filled, anointed beginning?
There is great power in declaring the word of God. There is dynamic power in agreement.
Today, I invite you to consider this endeavor. Take a few moments, read the word of God out loud, and outside. It doesn’t matter what you read, the Old Testament, the New Testament, or the Psalms. All the words of God are powerful – just read!
Also, make it a practice to read the word of God inside your home. In your children’s bedrooms. Saturate each room of your house with the powerful, unchanging word of God.
I began in Psalms. I don’t know why. But I do know this, it was and is empowering.
When we don’t know what to do, we can all do this. Only God knows the lasting impact this will have as we speak His anointed words into the darkness and call forth the light of God.
It is a awesome way of beginning each day . God Blesses us each day and we pass it along. Praise Jesus. Our Lord and Master!
Thank you sooooo much.this is so true and I will start doing this daily.thank you Jesus. ❤️.
