This past week, I was reading an article when one particular scripture jumped out at me—that is how it often happens to me. I couldn’t even tell you what the article was about—I believe God wanted me to see that one verse.

By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. (Hebrews 11:11)

Of course, the word conceive means to become pregnant. It also means to cause to begin, to apprehend by reason or imagination, and to form in your mind by imagination. Isn’t that interesting. To cause to begin…to apprehend by reason or imagination…

The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7; For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Before we can give birth to a child, we must first conceive. Before we can give birth to a miracle of any kind, we must also first conceive.

In observing the life of Sarah, we see that it was absolutely impossible for her to have a child. It was impossible for her to conceive, however, through faith, she was given strength from God to conceive and eventually give birth to the promise God made her.

Is there a promise God has put in your heart that seems impossible? Could it be that there is a barren place in your life – yet God has promised you rich fulfillment?

If that is you, there is good news! God can and will give you the strength to conceive the seed you need to produce the fulfillment you were promised.

First, remember the seed is the Word of God.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. (Luke 8:11)

For us to conceive we must do so through the Word of God. How do we do that?

If what you need to conceive is debt freedom, you would go through the Word of God and find scriptures concerning debt freedom and increase in finances. You would write or type those scriptures and then begin to meditate on them until you conceive in your spirit freedom from all debt.

You may ask, how long do you do that? Until you are fully persuaded that the seed has been sown in you and you are convinced you will see the fulfillment of debt freedom.

If you need to conceive for healing – do the same thing. Look up scriptures on healing and wholeness and mediate on them until you have sown the seed inside your heart for healing.

Confess the Word – meditate on that word – pray the word until you believe you are healed completely.

What seed do you need to conceive today? Whatever it is, ask God to give you the strength and empower you to conceive the very seed you need.

Now, let’s look at the end of that verse. It tells us exactly how and why Sarah was able to conceive.

Because she counted Him faithful who promised.

The Amplified Bible says it like this; Because of faith also Sarah herself received physical power to conceive a child, even when she was long past the age for it, because she considered [God] Who had given her the promise to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His word.

Sarah considered God, who had given her the promise, to be RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY and TRUE TO HIS WORD.

This confirms the truth that when we stand firmly on the Word of God, God will fulfill His promise. How can we know that? Scripture tells us He is true to His Word. Faithful and True—that’s who He is.

My dear friends, I believe God is compelling us to press into Him and His Word. I believe He desires to strengthen us to conceive the seed we need to give birth to His promises in our lives. By faith Sarah conceived the seed – by faith we shall do the same.
