Many times in my life I have initiated an act of faith for something I was believing for. For instance, if I was believing for a vehicle, I would purchase a new key chain. If I was believing for a new home, I would begin to buy things for my new home – as my act of faith. I have seen God honor my acts of faith for many years.
The other day, I read a testimony of a woman who also released an act of faith. She did this on the heels of a negative report and a very challenging time. In the midst of it she chose to trust God and to show that trust in an act of faith. Please read her testimony below and be encouraged. What man says is impossible is always possible with God.
(Grandparents) February 1st- My husband and I rejoiced in the birth of grandchild number 7.
Our hearts are filled with great praise and thanksgiving. I have chosen to share with you what this birth has meant to a couple who were told repeatedly by medical officials that the birth of a child for them was very slim to not at all. But God! I pray this miraculous story empowers you today to Believe- and to encourage you to have faith in the One and only Great I AM. The baby’s name means- God Increases.

A year ago this week, I made a baby blanket swaddle. In a complete act of faith, and after yet another negative test. Believing for a miracle, I picked out the material and brought it home, and learned how to do mitered corners on muslin (an obnoxious material to work with, by the way).
When people asked why I made the swaddle – I didn’t really have an answer… This act of faith came after 3 1/2 years of trying, a summer of unsuccessful fertility treatments, years of unfavorable doctor prognoses, and lots of heartache and disappointment. It is so hard to stand in faith when things seem to not be visibly progressing.
In the midst of the hard season, God was bringing total strangers up to my husband and I in stores (many times over the years) saying “I just feel like God is wanting me to tell you that He hasn’t forgotten His promise to you. There WILL be children.” In tears (mine, of course), we would thank them for sharing with us as an act of their own faith in that God was asking them to be vulnerable and so bold with strangers – because THAT took a lot of faith for them to even approach us. Those reminders and promises became so precious for us to cling to!
This year, as my photos remind me of what I was doing a year ago – I can’t help but to be emotional. Here we are, 21 weeks pregnant with our little girl! Our God does BIG things despite the odds. He performs miracles that seem impossible. What are you standing in faith for? Keep standing. Even if it takes everything in you to just stand, STAND… I had no idea that 7 months after this act of faith, we would become pregnant. What a surprise, what a whirlwind, and what an absolute miracle! Let God’s miracle in our family bolster your faith for the BIG things. For the mountains that seem immovable. He hasn’t forgotten the promises. He is still working behind the scenes. What act of faith are you being called to do for your own miracle? What is God nudging you to say to the complete stranger in the store? Those “small” things can have big impacts. Don’t discount yourself, let your faith move you.
I love what she said, let your faith move you – move you to initiate an act of faith for what you are believing for. My friend, let this testimony encourage you today. Choose to believe God in the very midst of the negative reports or what looks impossible. Release your faith, just as she did and watch God bring to pass a miracle for you today. Let your act of faith speak volumes today!!!
