I keep hearing that many people are relieved that 2024 is coming to an end. I understand why; it hasn’t been an easy year for many of us. There has been a great deal of uncertainty, both as individuals and as a nation. However, God has been faithful, and we are still here today. I believe our best days are ahead of us and closer than we think.

As the year ends, I do a lot of soul-searching, as many do at this time of year.

I decided I wanted 2025 to be a much greater year for me and for you.  I also realized that to accomplish that, I would need to make some changes.

I firmly believe in the Bible, which teaches us that we reap what and where we sow. If I want to see greater results in 2025, it makes sense that I need to sow more purposefully. While this includes financial growth, my primary focus is on enhancing my spiritual journey.

I sense that many of us have spent the last few years in survival mode, struggling through loss and disappointments that felt nearly crippling. Personally, I want to move beyond survival mode, and today, I choose to step into thrive mode.

As I reflected on my upbringing over the weekend, I thought about how my three sisters and I were raised by our incredible single mother. I wouldn’t trade her for anyone else. However, the most important lesson she instilled in us was survival. My sister and I recently discussed how our mom had the mindset that, if anything happened to her—our only parent—we needed to know how to take care of ourselves. And believe me, we learned that lesson well.

While it’s certainly valuable to know how to survive, I realize that this isn’t God’s best for us. Learning to survive has helped me navigate many challenges over the years, and I’m grateful for that. However, I don’t want to live in survival mode. Jesus came so that I might have life and enjoy it to the fullest—until it overflows. That’s not merely surviving; that’s thriving.

These are the things that are on my heart as I prepare to say goodbye to one year and hello to another.

As I approach the end of 2024, I plan to give financially to the Lord. I will begin 2025 in the same manner, contributing to the Lord and those who have ministered to me. Why? Because I believe in the principle of sowing and reaping: if I want to reap more, I must sow more.

Additionally, I will spend the last days of this year in the presence of God and immersing myself in His Word. I intend to enter the new year on the right foot. My goal is to start strong and finish even stronger on December 31. To achieve this, it must begin with me.

If you were unsatisfied with how 2024 turned out, decide to change it. God has given us His Word, His authority, and everything we need to live the abundant life that Jesus died to provide for us. The rest is up to us.

His promises may not automatically manifest in our life just because we read them or someone tells us about them.  They come to pass into our life because we read and obey them.  We believe them, we receive them, and we stand in faith until we see them manifest in our life.

God’s promises are truth and available to all of us.  So, what needs to change?  We do.  We WILL REAP WHAT WE SOW.

That’s what I want you to think about today.  Do you want some things to change?  Change them.  Do you want to reap more spiritually?  Sow more spiritually.  Do you want to reap more financially?  Sow more.  God is not mocked. Whatever we sow, that shall we reap.

My wonderful friends, it is time to come out of survival mode and begin to thrive in God.  It’s MY YEAR TO THRIVE, will you join me?
